Gear That Wins is committed to making gearthatwins.com usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
Our accessibility goal: We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing effort. This statement describes our current approach and is not a certification that every page fully conforms.
Accessibility features
- An accessibility toolbar is available throughout the website for increasing or decreasing text size, grayscale, high contrast, negative contrast, a light background, underlined links, and a readable font.
- Keyboard focus outlines help show which link or control is selected.
- A “Skip to content” link helps keyboard and screen-reader users move past repeated navigation.
- Selected accessibility settings can be remembered across the website for up to one month.
- The site uses responsive layouts, structured headings, descriptive links, and alternative text for images where practical.
Using the accessibility toolbar
Select the accessibility icon displayed along the edge of the screen to open the toolbar. Choose any available option to adjust the website. Select the option again to turn it off, or use the reset control to return to the default display.
Measures we take
- Use WordPress blocks and semantic page structure when creating and updating content.
- Review color contrast, keyboard navigation, link wording, and image descriptions during site updates.
- Correct reported accessibility problems as part of ongoing website maintenance.
- Prefer clear language and layouts that work on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Known limitations
Some older posts, images, videos, or downloadable files may not yet have ideal descriptions, captions, or transcripts. Third-party content—including YouTube videos, social-media embeds, affiliate tools, and retailer websites—is provided by other companies and may not meet the same accessibility standard. We are continuing to review and improve older content as time and resources allow.
